Discovering Your Inner Peace

Simple Step-By-Step Explorations to Experience Your Deepest Nature

Have you ever felt stuck in worry, stress, or self-doubt? What if there was a part of you—a deeper, wiser part—that could help you think more clearly, solve problems creatively, and feel genuinely at peace?

Modern research shows that meditation rewires your brain. These practices will help you lower stress, boost clarity and creativity, and discover lasting peace.

This article guides you through simple practices to discover your deepest essence—what some call the soul, others call inner wisdom, and what you might simply recognize as your truest self. All you need is curiosity and willingness to notice what you feel.

Understanding Your Two Ways of Seeing

Think of yourself like a house with two different perspectives. Your personality is like standing in the living room, looking out through the windows. You see the neighborhood, notice who’s walking by, keep track of time passing.

But there’s another perspective—like standing on the roof of your house. From up here, you can see the whole neighborhood at once. You’re still connected to your house, but you have a much bigger view. This bigger perspective is your deepest essence, or soul awareness.

Your personality lives in time and space. It worries about yesterday and tomorrow. It compares itself to others. Your deeper essence exists beyond these limits. It doesn’t need to wait for anything to be complete—it already is complete.

PRACTICE 1: Noticing Your Two Perspectives

Time needed: 3-5 minutes

Benefits: Immediately reduces stress, increases mental clarity, and helps you access creative problem-solving.

What you’ll notice: A subtle shift—like stepping back from a movie you were completely absorbed in. Your breathing may naturally slow down. Your shoulders might drop slightly.

  1. Settle and breathe: Sit comfortably and close your eyes. Take three slow breaths, noticing the air moving in and out of your nose or mouth.
  2. Notice your living room view: What is your personality concerned about right now? Maybe it’s worried about a deadline, frustrated about something, or planning what to do next. Just notice, without judging.
  3. Shift to the roof perspective: While staying aware of these concerns, imagine yourself stepping back—like floating up to the roof. You can still see those concerns, but they’re smaller now. There’s more space around them.
  4. Check your body: Notice if your chest feels more open, there’s a slight sense of lightness in your head, or your belly feels softer. These physical sensations tell you you’re shifting to a broader awareness.
  5. Ask for wisdom: From this bigger perspective, ask yourself: “What would wisdom say about this concern?” Don’t force an answer. Just stay in this spacious awareness and see what naturally arises.

Key insight: You don’t have to abandon your personality’s concerns to access wisdom. You’re simply adding a broader view that includes both the details and the big picture.

You’re Not Separate—You’re Part of Everything

At your deepest level, you’re not separate from other people or from the universe itself. Think of the ocean: each wave has its own unique shape, rises at its own time, crashes in its own way. The waves are definitely different from each other. But they’re all made of the same ocean water.

In the same way, you are a unique expression of something larger. You have your own shape, your own timing, your own gifts—just like each wave is unique. But at your core, you’re made of the same essence as everyone else. This doesn’t mean you lose your individuality. A wave doesn’t stop being a wave when it recognizes it’s ocean.

PRACTICE 2: Feeling Your Connection

Time needed: 5-7 minutes

What you’ll notice: Many people report a warm sensation in their chest, a tingling in their hands, or a feeling of gentle expansion. You might feel more tender, more open.

  1. Connect with your heart: Sit quietly and place one hand on your heart. Feel your heartbeat if you can. Take slow, deep breaths.
  2. Imagine your light: Visualize a gentle light glowing in your chest—whatever color feels right. This light represents your life force, your awareness, your essence.
  3. Recognize others’ light: Now imagine this same kind of light glowing in the chest of someone you love. Different brightness, different quality, but the same basic nature.
  4. Expand your awareness: Imagine millions of people, each with their own light glowing. Different colors, different intensities, but all fundamentally the same kind of light. All connected, like stars in the same sky.
  5. Rest in connection: Notice that recognizing this connection doesn’t make you disappear. You’re still completely you—your light is still distinct. But you’re also part of something larger. Let yourself rest in this awareness for a few moments.

Key insight: When you realize you’re connected to everyone at a deep level, other people’s judgment loses some of its power. Their opinions are just one wave’s view of another wave—interesting, but not the whole truth of who you are.

Why Your Personality Gets Stuck

Your personality has a challenging job. It’s trying to navigate a complex world using only the information it can see, touch, and measure. Because of this limited view, your personality develops beliefs like “I need to be perfect before people will accept me” or “I’m fundamentally flawed or broken.”

These beliefs aren’t wrong or bad—they’re just incomplete. They’re based on your personality’s limited view from inside the house. From the roof perspective—from your deeper essence—things look different. The truth is, at your deepest level, you’re already complete. You’re already connected. You’re already worthy.

PRACTICE 3: Bridging Your Personality and Your Essence

Time needed: 5-8 minutes

What you’ll notice: A gentle release—like setting down a heavy backpack you didn’t realize you were carrying. Your jaw might relax. Your breath might reach deeper into your belly.

  1. Identify a limiting belief: Think of something your personality believes about you—maybe “I’m not good enough” or “I need to be more successful to matter.” Notice where you feel this belief in your body.
  2. Shift perspective: Take a few deep breaths and shift to your broader awareness—that roof perspective. From here, you can see your personality having this belief, but you’re not trapped inside it.
  3. Access deeper truth: From this spacious view, ask yourself: “What is actually true at the deepest level?” Notice what arises. It might be something like “I’m already whole” or “I’m already valuable.”
  4. Feel the shift: When you touch this deeper truth, notice what changes in your body. Does your chest expand slightly? Do your shoulders drop? Does your breathing deepen? Notice the physical sensation of truth.
  5. Integrate the wisdom: Breathe this deeper truth into your body. Feel it in your cells. Say to yourself: “My personality is learning. It doesn’t have to be perfect. It’s okay to relax into what I already am.”

Key insight: You’re not trying to get rid of your personality or transcend being human. You’re helping your personality remember its connection to something larger, which actually makes it function better in daily life.

The Hidden Truth: You’re Already Understood

At the deepest level, people already understand you. Not with their minds—with their essence. Your true nature is completely visible to the true nature in others. When you create something—a piece of art, a service, an idea, even just your presence—there’s a level at which others can resonate with its essence.

This is incredibly freeing when you really get it. You don’t have to work so hard to be understood. You don’t have to prove your worth. You simply need to be authentic, and the right resonance will happen naturally.

PRACTICE 4: Experiencing Natural Resonance

Time needed: 7-10 minutes

What you’ll notice: A sense of ease and natural flow. You might feel your body relax into a quality of “rightness”—like puzzle pieces clicking into place.

  1. Identify your gift: Think of something you’ve created or want to share with the world—maybe your work, an idea, a talent, or simply your way of being. Close your eyes and imagine this creation or gift as a light or energy.
  2. Visualize all beings: Imagine all the people in the world as points of light—billions of them. Each one is consciousness, awareness, life energy.
  3. Trust natural resonance: Notice how your creation’s light naturally reaches out and touches some of these other lights. You don’t have to force it. It’s like a tuning fork that makes nearby tuning forks resonate.
  4. Feel the connection: Can you sense a subtle current of energy moving from your heart outward? This felt sense of connection is real—it’s how resonance actually works.
  5. Let go of control: Notice that you don’t need to convince anyone or explain anything. The right people simply feel drawn. You’re not for everyone, and that’s okay. Feel the ease of this.

Key insight: When you stop trying to appeal to everyone and instead focus on being authentic, you naturally attract the people and opportunities that truly match who you are.

How This Changes Your Daily Life

When you practice connecting with your deeper essence regularly, measurable changes happen:

Lowered Stress and Anxiety: When you realize you’re already whole and connected, anxiety loses much of its grip. Your nervous system shifts from “threat mode” to “safe mode.”

Enhanced Mental Clarity: When your mind isn’t cluttered with worry and self-doubt, you can think more clearly. Decision-making becomes easier because you’re not caught in emotional reactivity.

Increased Creativity: Creativity emerges when you relax into a more spacious state of awareness. Solutions to problems emerge spontaneously.

Deep Coherence: Feeling your oneness with the universe creates coherence in your entire system. Your heart rhythms become more regular, your breathing synchronizes, and your brain waves shift into harmonious patterns.

Greater Stability: You stop being so dependent on external validation. You have an inner anchor that stays steady even when life gets chaotic.

Natural Joy: Joy emerges spontaneously when you’re not contracted by fear and limiting beliefs. This peace doesn’t depend on everything going your way.

PRACTICE 5: Daily Integration

Time needed: 3 minutes total throughout your day

This simple practice helps you stay connected to your essence throughout your day.

  1. Morning anchor: Before getting out of bed, place your hand on your heart. Take three deep breaths. Ask yourself: “What does my deepest wisdom want me to remember today?” Listen for whatever arises.
  2. Midday pause: Take a 1-minute pause. Close your eyes if you can. Shift from your “living room view” to your “roof view.” Notice how things look from this broader perspective.
  3. Evening reflection: Before sleep, reflect on one moment when you felt connected to your deeper nature today. Let yourself feel gratitude for that moment.
  4. Be gentle: Don’t try to be perfect at this. You’re simply practicing remembering who you really are.
  5. Stay consistent: Even brief daily practice strengthens this connection more than occasional longer sessions.

Your Journey Forward

The practices in this article are doorways, not destinations. Some days they’ll feel easy and natural. Other days they’ll seem like just imagination. Both experiences are fine.

The key is gentleness and consistency. Don’t force anything. Simply keep practicing, keep noticing, keep being curious.

Over time, you’ll naturally feel more peaceful, more stable, more confident. The anxious striving quiets down. A natural wisdom starts guiding your choices.

This isn’t about becoming someone different. It’s about recognizing who you’ve always been. It’s about coming home to yourself.

Start Where You Are

Choose one practice that resonates and work with it for a week. Notice what changes. Then add another if you feel called to.

Your deepest essence is always here, always available, always patient. It’s been waiting your whole life for you to remember. Why not start now?

I´ve always previously intuitively reacted with some degree of internal withdrawal when the concept of “levels” have been brought up in connection with the relationship between one’s soul and it’s surroundings, and this is the first time that I become aware of a narrative that actually makes sense of it all when it comes to understanding what the different “levels” are all about…

    • Michael,

Discussion of ‘levels’ is about subtle differences; nuances that give more understanding. As you’ve discovered, it’s not a judgment and it’s not a mental game; levels are something to explore with the sensitivity of one’s being.

Hi, I’m having an issue I can’t explain.
Unconsciously, I read people’s feelings and thoughts.. Or actually, I feel what they feel in the same moment.. I don’t know if that’s an issue of soul transparency or not.. But it’s annoying sometimes.. Can you please explain what it is? And if I can control it or not? I don’t know much about cosmics.. But please help..

    • Rayene,

Please read my response to Bhagyashree above. These techniques for being centered and grounded will apply to your situation. You can learn to be more centered in your body, and less affected by everything around you.

I’m 31years old..my whole life I knew I was different. I had about 2 psychics tell me so.. but never caught myself repeating yes! Yes..yeaa. I want to thank you for this life changing moment! Cheers!!

  5. Bhagyashree says:

Dear sir, I’m Bhagyashree having soul transparency, unknowingly it happens with me. My thoughts, feelings, whatever i’m doing it is transparent for some people, they can see (remote viewing). They can access, control my mind, because of this i suffering a lot.
I trying to get out of this situation, I do meditation regularly, I used all the techniques found on the net. I’m totally crashed. Please help, guide me to get out of this problem.
Definitely your guidance will save my life.

    • Bhagyashree,

Here’s the key: Feel your center, and breathe into it. Stay centered in your body. When your mind roams elsewhere, gently bring your attention back to your body.

Say: I am the owner of my body, my mind, and my soul.

And what about the people who can sense your thoughts? Just let them. Do not worry about it.

When you stay in your center, your core, you build a stronger sense of self. You become the owner of your self. When you notice someone in your personal space, push them out of your personal space. You are the owner of your own space. Only you. Take charge. Push the energy of anyone else out of your personal space.
